What is a "Good" Film?

I think that is very difficult to explain what is a good film and which characteristics has to have. I really think that does not exist "good or "bad" films. I just can find films that I like and other that I hate. Despite of I have preferences about types of films, directors, and actors, sometimes I find really good films in a very differents ways.
In general I see a lot of movies during the winter, especially when it is rainning, because you can not do other type of activity but recently (spring) I tried to go out and do activities in parks, for example. Because of that two months ago I saw a movie, a very good movie called "The white ribbon" written and directd by Michael Haneke. This film is about a very little village in Germany before The World War I, and maybe because of that is a very dark, intriguing and complex movie. Some people thing that this kind of films are very sad and a boring, but I disagree. This kinds of movies, which show the reality, facts that really can happen...in general, truth about the life, are my favourite kind of movies.
In general , I do not like special effects and teherefore I hate "action films", but sometimes in particular situations and particular types of movies, the special effects are necessary and make the film more attractive and interesting. I observed this in movies like "Alicia in wonderland" and I really like it.
In some situatons the director is fundamental, especially whn you compared his influence in the creation of the secenes with the narrow role of producer. Maybe in a very expensive films the role of the producer is almost so important than the role of director, but in the type of movie that I like, his role it is not so important.
